Pixlex was tasked with creating an online restaurant directory that would be engaging, informative, and be completely interactive for both website visitors and restaurant owners a-like.
Through an iterative process, the Pixlex team strategized what features would be needed to help engage visitors and give restaurant owners control over their listings. Through this process, it was decided that two user types would be needed. A registration and user management system for each was implemented.
Restaurant Owner Users:
A "Claim" feature was used to allow restaurant owners to gain control over the pre-built listings. Once claimed, through an Owner dashboard, they would have full control over the images and information of their listing. This allowed them to display the most up-to-date information for their customers. Additionally, they could create new listings from their account.
Website Visitor Users:
A user dashboard was created for users to manage their profiles. Users are able to "Save/Bookmark" restaurants and all the saved restaurants are conveniently displayed in their dashboard. Once registered, users are also able to leave reviews on restaurant listings. A social media style "Like" system was implemented allowing for further engagement with reviews.
To keep visitors engaged, multiple features were added to the website. Theses included a blog style News/Article section, a Contest system, and a "Deals" section where users could find the latest deals for food delivery.
