Easel Street Alliance, a non-profit organization that supports disaster relief, approached Pixlex with a need to develop an ecommerce website to sell artwork online to fund their mission. The artwork they sell is held and shipped by the individual artists that partner with ESA. A traditional ecommerce system was recognized as being too limited as artists needed the ability to have control over their artwork listings - adding new artwork and editing existing artwork to the website. It was decided that a Marketplace-style ecommerce system was needed which would allow for all the functionality needed and would additionally make the management of the website more sustainable for the ESA team.
Collaborating closely with ESA, the Pixlex team strategically devised the optimal implementation of all desired features within the ecommerce system. Various approaches to artwork management and artist onboarding were tested and fine-tuned. This iterative process uncovered new challenges, necessitating additional functionality. Upon finalizing the scope of the system, solutions were promptly developed, tested, and deployed.
